ScHoolboy Q has said that “Overtime” was added to the dense, funk-infused Blank Face at the request of the label. As easily the most accessible, R&B-infused, star-studded track on the LP, it’s not to tough to spot it from a mile away, but that’s not to say it doesn’t provide a fresh breath of pop aspiration in an otherwise dark and tangled concept album.
The video is reminiscent of Q’s “Man Of The Year,” as he is surrounded by scantily clad women, but also dials up the absurdity factor, getting his hair cut on a colorful playground, always bringing a good dose of personality to every artistic choice.
